Comments Off
  • 8/13 – I can’t seem to remember what we had – I could ask Jason but his answer is always “I ate, it was good, I don’t remember what it was!”
  • 8/14 Angel Hair & Herb Pasta – so nothing to brag about!
  • 8/15 Steak & Shrimp – you can’t go wrong with those!!!
  • 8/16 Armands subs – we just love these! Order online and they show up piping hot!
  • 8/17 Thanksgiving in August! chicken & stuffing!
  • 8/18 After a long bike ride we were hungry early and grabbed some Irish Nachos and Chicken Tenders at Sine
  • 8/19: Dinner was simple Hamburgers and a great fresh salad. I also whipped up individual strawberry shortcakes which came out great. They were the perfect size for Jason and I to split one.

Highlight for tomorrow night – Jason is making lasagna! This means no cooking for me, leftovers for at least one night, and lunch for a day or two!! Yay!!!

Well this week wasn’t much a foodie brag week as I didn’t cook a thing!!! It was a foodie vacation. We went to Hershey PA for my company’s yearly family getaway for the weekend which consisted of some great food!!!

  • 8/5 – Hamburger at Crystal City Sports Pub
  • 8/6 – Chinese food from Charlie Changs
  • 8/7 – Leftovers from Charlie Changs
  • 8/8 – Restaurant Week here in DC – Bobby Vans Steakhouse – we both got the filet and it was fantastic!!!
  • 8/9 – Buffett dinner at company function in Hershey PA, beef, chicken, fish etc…
  • 8/10 – Circular Dining Room at Hershey Hotel – I can’t even begin to tell you how good this was! The fact that our $300 dinner bill was picked up by my company made it even better!! Jason got the filet and I got the NY strip which ere both great but the stand out item were the Scallops in the White Truffle Sauce! They were sooooo good!!!!!

Special Installment

While this is a bit OT, Arlington Foodie and and her Significant Other (as he likes to be called) are signed up to run a 10 (yes I said ten) mile run at the beginning of October. Running for me is a way to insure I don’t end up looking like a fat cow while eating all the goodies listed elsewhere on this page but I can insure you I don’t eat enough to warrant a TEN mile run!!! But never the less off we go!I found a great article in a running magazine tonight (compliments of the Arlington Public Library and Jason’s keen selecting) that outlines on a day by day basis what we needed to be doing to get our behinds off the couch and to the finish line. The plan is for 10 weeks and we really only have nine weeks to go so we’ll have to be quite dedicated!!Other than our entire weekend of eating out next weekend in Hershey, PA I plan on trying to eat super healthy to give us every much needed advantage on our road to victory. You can track our running progress through our Nike+ stats on both my page and Jason’s page (brdweb.com). A few more updates to come!

First Recipe for my three little bundt pans

Comments Off

So in an earlier post I wrote about the three little bundt pans my Nana & Papa gave me for my birthday. Well this will be my first recipe I’m going to try out in them. It too is compliments of my Nana. It’s a Mini Blueberry Bundt Cake, “These pretty very-berry cakes from Cathy Isaak of Rivers, Manitoba are drizzled with a yummy lemon-flavored glaze”.
