Commander-In-Chief’s Ball

Well all I can say is that this was a friggin blast! I am so glad that we didn’t miss out on the opportunity to attend one of the official inaugural balls for President Obama. There were quite a few big names there along with the obvious visits from the President and Vice-President. Here’s a quick list:

  • George Lopez – He was the emcee for the evening. Had a few really good lines.
  • Jordan Sparks – Good voice, nice performance.
  • Josh Groban – Ugly mug, but god the man can sing!
  • Jon Bon Jovi – Still a great performer. I started the one more song chant and it worked!
  • Smokey Robinson – What can you say about him? A very smooth operator.
  • Chris Rock – Would have liked to have heard his act, but it was VERY short, I was on the other end of the room, and the audio sucked.

I’ve got some more videos up at Viddler of Bon Jovi and President Obama. Enjoy.

Steelers Win!

Steelers_Pride.jpgI am soooo happy right now. Glowing actually. You see, in case you’re not a football fan, last night the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the hated Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game for the right to go to the Super Bowl.

The game ended up being much closer than it should have been as the Steelers completely dominated the stats. It just didn’t translate into a big lead as I was forced to sweat out the 4th quarter as the Ravens closed in.

Thanks to my main man Troy Polamalu’s interception and return for a touchdown Pittsburgh was able to close out the game and give all of Steeler nation a reason to start celebrating. I’m happy for the Cardinals and Kurt Warner but damn if I don’t want to become the first team with 6 Super Bowl wins!
