On a Hot Streak
I’m starting to write this as I sit in 2nd place with 7 left in the DADI 8: Rebuy in July tourney. I started off playing some of the loosest and wildest poker of my life, which was worthy of your typical $5 rebuy on stars. Somehow I managed to suck out enough times to only rebuy 5 times and addon. I continued to play pretty loose throughout the entire field, which is working well in these blogger tournaments. This is mostly due to the fact that most people are much tighter than the normal crowd in a tournament on stars.So I picked my spots to re-raise on steal attempts, raised almost as often as most of my opponents played, and tried to fold if they pushed back TOO hard. The few times that I got monsters I got paid off because of this image so I think that I’m learning how to be loose-aggressive when it’s warranted.Now I’m 2nd in chips behind smokkee with 6 players left. We both have over double the other 4 players at the table so things are looking good if I continue to play well.UPDATE: I ended up heads up with weak_player and went on to take it down! The prize pool ended up being very nice since it was a rebuy and my bankroll grew by $435. Thanks to the folks in IRC for the support and I want to say that everybody at the final table played well.
